After turning to the Adamthwaite surname list on Rootsweb, I soon met others who were stuck at exactly the same point. I decided that if I collected details of ALL the Adamthwaites mentioned in the Ravenstonedale Parish Registers, I would be able to work out the identity of John Adamthwaite.
